Introducing Arcadia™ - Higher performance, lower turbulence

ADS new Arcadia Hydrodynamic Separator (HDS) is an essential component for modern stormwater sediment management, effectively removing pollutants and helping to ensure cleaner and safer water discharge into the environment.

Higher performance

Arcadia has measurably superior performance than other hydrodynamic separators, providing removal efficiencies at higher flow rates and within a smaller footprint.

Not only is it capable of conveying 100% of the design peak flow, Arcadia captures and retains a wide range of contaminants, including sediments, hydrocarbons, and debris. Industry standard third party verified tests show that it removes >80% of the suspended solids on an annual aggregate removal basis using OK-110 media and 300 mg/L influent concentration, and >50% of TSS using a media mix with D50=75 micron and 200 mg/L influent concentration as per the current NJDEP/NJCAT HDS protocol.  

Compact, versatile and easy to install

Arcadia’s compact design means it’s easy to install with a versatility that makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from urban developments to industrial sites, as a flexible and scalable solution for stormwater sediment management. 

Arcadia can be installed in all common precast manhole sizes, ranging from 900mm to 3,000mm.

But that’s not all. Other unique design features mean there’s no elevation loss between the inlet and outlet, and the variable angle configurations mean easy integration into both new and existing stormwater systems, often without the need for extensive modification.

Reduced maintenance, reduced cost, longer life

Arcadia is designed for easy maintenance using a vacuum truck or similar, with inspection and maintenance performed from the surface.

From Kerb to Catchment

Pollutants are particularly present in urban stormwater runoff. CIRIA reference studies suggest that up to 98% of the hydrocarbons from urban areas are attached to sediment. Unless treated, this can spread throughout the drainage system, impairing performance and endangering the environment.

Whilst SuDS ‘Best Practice’ leans towards ‘mimicking nature’ through vegetative infrastructure, when pollutant loads from runoff are high, vegetative SuDS may be unable to effectively capture and treat the pollutants.

Using Arcadia upstream of vegetative and proprietary SuDS, can provide an effective “first defence” against particulate-bound pollutants and protect the whole drainage system. By effectively removing pollutants, Arcadia helps protect ecosystems and supports compliance with environmental regulations. This combination of ‘grey’ manufactured and ‘green’ vegetative SuDS can provide optimum hydraulic and water quality performance, together with lowest cost.
