ADS Arcadia has verified Mitigation Indices

Arcadia is one of the highest performing hydrodynamic separators (HDS) available, offering proven sediment removal efficiencies at higher flow rates and in smaller footprints than its competitors.

It also offers independently verified Mitigation Indices (MIs)

Mitigation Indices are metrics used to evaluate the effectiveness of stormwater treatment components in removing pollutants from surface water runoff. CIRIA's SuDS Manual C753 details a simple method for dealing with pollutant risks by including hazard indices for each type of pollutant in a range of site types. Designers must then include SuDS components in the treatment train which have combined Mitigation Indices equal to or exceeding the hazard indices.

Arcadia MIs

Arcadia has independently verified MIs which means that it is suitable for Low Pollution Hazard applications without the need for any additional treatment. For higher Pollution Hazard applications, Arcadia can be used as a first stage in a treatment train comprising other SuDS components.

Low Pollution Hazard applications typically include residential car parks, low traffic roads (e.g. cul-de-sacs, general access roads) and non-residential car parking with infrequent change (e.g. schools, offices) i.e. < 300 traffic movements per day.

Unique engineering = superior performance

Most Hydrodynamic Separators (HDS) typically work by creating a vortex to separate and settle-out sediment, similar to water flowing through a plughole. Whilst Arcadia does not operate on a free vortex principle, it can be regarded as a vortex separator for specification purposes.

Unique to Arcadia, runoff is forced to travel upwards through a series of angled baffles which cause sediment to settle in the sump, trapping pollutants and helping to prevent the resuspension of captured contaminants. Tests demonstrate that Arcadia is generally more effective than conventional vortex separators.
