The start of a New Year with the Studio 4

News by Matt0 comments

So I am writing the first blog of the year and it is already the 4th week! Things have not stopped since the Christmas break. We have several new accounts, been overseas on business, skype calling in the UK and Europe whilst still servicing the needs of the clients on our doorstep.

With Brexit looming I am perplexed at the up turn in business but long may it last. So why have things started so well? I had a look at where the work has come from and some has been PR, a lot of SEO, new design and Branding contracts, loads of websites, hosting, domains, social media, you name it, in the first 3 weeks, we have done it.

So maybe that’s why we are busy, because of the breadth of what we offer. For a team of 14, we are extremely diverse with talented staff in 5 or … [Read More]

Does your company need to be more social?

Miscellaneous by Matt0 comments

Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram; at what point does your company have enough of a social presence, and will there be yet another new social platform we will all be using before the end of the year?

Most companies now have a social media presence of some kind, some companies are now even employing people purely to handle their social media, but how many posts do you need to make, one a week, one a day, one an hour?

When it comes to how many, it all depends on what you have got to say, if you can post regularly without repetition with relevant information, then regular posts can be worthwhile. An estate agent that has 50 properties for sale may post 2 or 3 times a day, however, a company with a small product range may only post once a week because they simply do not have enough to … [Read More]

All-Stars 2 – 7 The Studio 4

News by Matt0 comments

The charity match between the Newport All-Stars and The Studio 4 proved to be a great success. Fortunately, the weather stayed fine and at 2pm, 25 players and a good crowd descended on the football pitches at Lilleshall Sports centre.

The studio 4 had pre-match concerns about their keeper with none of our players seeing it as their best position, so it was agreed that 3 or 4 of the lads would rotate. As the game kicked off, The studio 4 were under the cosh a little as we tried to get our shape. The All-Stars were passing the ball well and tried to capitalise on the fact that we did not have a natural goal keeper. They operated with a 4-5-1 formation with Ben Jones in the All-Stars midfield looking sharp as the All-Stars gathered a bit of momentum. Twenty minutes into the game and against the run of … [Read More]

Print – The NEW way to advertise

Publishing by Matt0 comments

Since the advent of the internet in 1989, the need for traditional printed materials has been under threat. Now almost 30 years on, print is having some what of a renaissance.

In a world with emails, tablets and smart phones, why do we even need print?

According to Bauer Media, 84% of readers said they found themselves more engaged when reading a print magazine.

A Neilsen survey also found adverts in magazines and newspapers were still trusted by more than 50% of those surveyed compared to 38% for search engine adverts and 34% for social media adverts.

So why is print seen as such a reliable medium?

With the internet breeding a wealth of fake and inaccurate news, people are turning to print magazines as a trusted source.

For years it has been expected that the next generation will use tablets and mobiles as their only resource for information and … [Read More]

The importance of blogging

SEO by Matt0 comments

Following the launch of our new website, The Studio 4 will be posting a fortnightly blog highlighting relevant issues in the world of marketing. Each will be written by a different member of the team on topics that are relevant to them. It maybe the latest hints and tips for SEO, or suggestions on how to best utilise your social media platforms. Through to information on the latest design tools, or how to promote your business through PR. I hope you will find our blogs insightful and if anyone ever wants to ask us a question, we would be more than happy to give our advice.

As it was my turn to write the first blog I thought it made sense to write about why blogging is so important.

We all know what a blog is and the opinion for many is that it can be a tedious task in … [Read More]
